The earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 caused much heartache and upheaval across our region. When the old stone church in Durham Street collapsed, the loss of three lives was devastating. The loss of the building has been seen as an opportunity to build a new place of worship that is much more than a building. It will be a place of gathering; of ministry and outreach to our community; a coming together of services to give practical support; a flexible complex where we can continue to evolve the way in which we live out our call as Methodists in Christchurch City.

Construction of the new complex commences mid May 2018 and is expected to be completed towards the end of 2019.  Presently the congregation worships at Knox Presbyterian Hall, Bealey Avenue, Christchurch most Sundays at 10.00am.  For additional information until our new website is fully functional please check out: https://durhamstreetmethodist.wordpress.com/  and for our city chaplain StreeTs blog: https://streetsdurhamstmethodistparish.wordpress.com/
